The Art of Product Prioritization

RICE scoring quietly breaks the moment strategy and stakeholders enter the room. SU-RICE, the framework Anup built across real SaaS growth stages, adds Source and User Persona, so you prioritize by where value actually lies, not by the loudest voice.

Every product team has more good ideas than time. Prioritization is the job, and most scoring frameworks quietly fall apart the moment real stakeholders and strategy enter the room. This book is about doing it well, drawn from the calls I made leading product at a fast-growing SaaS startup.

What it covers

The SU-RICE framework

SU-RICE extends RICE with two inputs. Source is where a request originated (a prospect, a customer, the market, or internally). User Persona is who's asking (a decision-maker, an admin, an end-user). Each is weighted by your current strategy. The full formula is (Source + User Persona) × Reach × Impact × Confidence ÷ Effort. It's been cited by ClickUp, Productboard, ProductLift, and others.

"Prioritization isn't ranking features. It's deciphering where the value lies, without letting the loudest voice in the room decide for you."
